Introducing EACCI

EACCI is comparatively new, having been created in August 2002, with a  formal inauguration and launch party in November at the Estonian House in New York City.

EACCI's mission is to facilitate and promote trade and investment between the United States and Estonia, to provide a forum for business networking and information exchange between the American and Estonian business communities, and to actively further the business interests of EACCI members.

EACCI membership is open to all individuals, companies and organizations interested in fostering economic ties between Estonia and the U.S.

The board members of EACCI are (pictured at right) Antero J. Lahtinen, Director of the Americas for Finnair, EACCI president, Krista Altok Tassa, Reimo Pettai, Acting Consul General at the Estonian Consulate in New York, U.S. Sales Manager for Estonian Air, Jerry-Max Theophile, Daniel Bain, CEO of GALVEX which has recently completed construction of its steel galvanizing factory in the Port of Muuga near Tallinn (GALVEX is also a member of American Chamber of Commerce Estonia (ACCE)) and (not pictured) Hamid Ladjevardi and Scott E. Schul.

In addition to being the President and a founder of EACCI, Krista Altok Tassa is the founder of the Baltic Business Information Network (BBIN), which has been active in promoting business contacts between the Baltic region and the US since 1995. Krista is an American-Estonian, whose other activities include teaching Estonian and music at the New York Estonian School, serving as Associate Executive Director for New Music for Young Ensembles, which sponsors composers’ competitions and presents concerts in New York concert venues, and performing herself for Estonian organizations throughout the New York metropolitan area. She began traveling regularly to Estonia and the region in the early 90’s, and has been in regular contact with ACCE since its earliest days.
